This combination journey starts in Bergen. This spectacular landmark is a popular destination among many who visit Norway in search of a hike with a view. While experiencing the Bergen area, you will discover majestic nature and many experiences including wonderful views of fjords. Bergen is a small metropolis renowned for its cultural heritage based on the fishing industry. Experience Bryggen in Bergen, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and dine on the delicacies of the sea at a restaurant or buy fresh produce from the famous Fish Market.
On day two it’s time to experience the fjords, specifically the Nærøyfjord. You will go on Norway’s most popular excursion, which includes a boat trip on the fjord and trips on both the Bergen Railway and Flåm Railway. This tour lasts about nine hours and is guaranteed to make an impression. On day three, the final day in the fjord landscape, we suggest a glacier tour to Fjærland. The fjord tour to Fjærland will take you through beautiful coastal and fjord landscapes on the Sognefjord, and includes visits to the Norwegian Glacier Museum and the Boyabreen glacier. Don’t forget to enjoy the galleries and urban life in Bergen before heading north to the realm of the Midnight Sun.
Lofoten, Vesterålen og Tromsø
After three days in Fjord Norway, you take a direct flight from Bergen to Bodø. In the space of a scenic two-hour flight, you will travel from the fjords of Western Norway to north of the Arctic Circle. You pick up your rental car here and take the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes in the Lofoten Islands. You can choose between a wide range of adventures, including fishing trips, museum visits and an exciting white-tailed eagle safari. Stay overnight in Svolvær before continuing your journey by car the following day to Andenes, the northernmost point in Vesterålen. You can experience a whale watching safari in the sea north of Andenes year-round. Moby Dick is waiting for you.
The North Norwegian coast leaves most people breathless with a varied and compact nature of mountains and sea combined with a rich animal and bird life. The Midnight Sun adds an extra dimension by making the nature accessible around the clock. According to a well-known expression, you should not sleep the summer’s night away. This must originate from Northern Norway. Whether you choose to sleep the night away or climb a mountain peak at midnight is completely up to you. The opportunity is there.
After staying in Andenes, the journey ends with driving back to Bodø.
